Hollow Knight: Silksong is the long-awaited Metroidvania sequel to the 2017 indie hit Hollow Knight, developed by Team Cherry. A key new feature is the Quest and “Wish” system, where Hornet receives quests from NPCs or quest boards scattered throughout the world. Instead of Charms, the game uses Tools and Crests, two systems that work together to determine Hornet’s abilities, strengths, and combat flow. Tools grant Hornet powerful attacks or utility abilities, and transform her lance into a multi-purpose weapon capable of long-range strikes, traps, or special techniques. These tools require resources, making resource management a key layer of strategy. Crests, on the other hand, provide passive upgrades that modify Hornet’s movement, Silk’s loot speed, healing, damage output, and more.
